As far as tiny houses go, this charming country home is about as picture perfect as they come. Although it is only 260 square feet, the bright white interior and lofted ceiling make this home invitingly open and comfortable.
The home is built on a dairy farm near the coastline of Northern California amongst a cluster of other farm buildings. It was designed by Richardson Architects as a yearly family retreat that would blend in with the environment and the rest of the farm. It definitely achieves the look, with its country aesthetic, white wood exterior, and orange sheet metal roof that matches the surrounding buildings. The large wraparound covered porch makes for a perfect lounging area on warm summer days.
While this home wasn’t intended as a permanent residence, it is designed with all the amenities that would make it an ideal living space for a small family looking to downsize to a small but comfortable home. It is built with all weather-resistant, non-corrosive materials for durability.
The design concept embraces a fun, whimsical and practical character that evokes the rural quality of the property.

This house is adorable! Where did you find the house plan? Do you have any pictures of the house plan and are they modifiable at all? My husband and I live in Nashville and with the rise in the housing prices it is nearly impossible for a Nashville native to afford a home in a young hip area. There is currently a 40 x 74 lot for sale and something like this might be perfect and still leave room for a garden and chicken coupe. We would greatly appreciate any help!
