Beautiful 480 Sq Ft Prefab Cabin with Screened Porch

If relaxing outdoors from the comfort of your home is something you enjoy, you’ll love the two large porches on this little cabin. A huge covered porch runs the length of the front of the house and a spacious screened in 8 foot porch with a nice vaulted ceiling (I’m picturing lots of hanging plants here) is built onto the side. This cabin is one of the beauties offered by Kanga Room Systems, a Texas designer and manufacturer of high quality prefabricated cabins, studios, sheds, and playhouses. If you’re looking for your dream cabin but don’t want to build it yourself, something like this might be a good option.

This is probably one of my favorite interior designs I’ve seen yet in the cabin and tiny house world. The tall vaulted ceiling adds lots of vertical space, making the home appear larger than its 480 square feet. This extra space has the added benefit of making the loft bedroom area much larger than you might typically see in a similar home.

Another thing I love about this home is the ladder for loft access since it doubles as a creative storage space – always a plus in a small home. It definitely adds functionality and a beautiful aesthetic over a simple wood or rope/chain ladder.

A full sized kitchen, bathroom, and living/dining area add to the appeal of the home and show how you can go small with your living space and still live very comfortably. For those wanting to downsize but who prefer a little more space than a truly tiny house, this is a great example.

Be sure to visit Kanga to see more images of this little cabin and to browse through some of their other cool prefab home options.

I love this cabin and would love to retire to something smaller but unless they offer a plan with a bedroom on the main this wouldn’t be practical for retirees.

I suspect you could put a Murphy bed downstairs. Too bad the site owner doesn’t reply to comments. This is a great design and I’d love to know more. How much to build, where to find, etc.
